Pay school fee by Planting a Tree: A great Initiative !!

The Ambikapur area of Chattisgarh district has been in news for the wonderful initiative taken by a primary school. Shiksha Kuteer is a primary school running in the village to impart education to the poor students. It has come up with a master plan to benefit all.

The school allows the economically weak guardians to pay the school fee of their wards by planting trees. At present around, 35 students aged around five years are studying in Shiksha Kuteer of Ambikarpur.

The villagers are very glee with this opportunity that enables them to get a quality education in English medium to their children just for the sake of planting and taking care of tree saplings. It frees them from the curse of poverty that hampers the path of education for their wards.

And the cycle continues as the generation remains uneducated. But, now they have an easier and practical way out. They can pay the fee in return of tree plantation. Parents need to take care of planted sapling and have to plant a new one if it dies out.

As per the counting around 700 trees have been planted till date by parents in the adjoining areas.

In a developing country like India solving the issue of Quality Education in a weaker section of society along with improving the environment is a superb initiative. Other educational institutions should learn and implement this practical method for the betterment of society. Such programs are going to develop a deep value and respect for the environment in the citizens as well.
