A Rural Sport Reinvented: Grand Launch of Tiranga Rumal Chhu League

Sirsa, 21st August – The Revered Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan made an announcement on Sunday at the Shah Satnam Ji Dham regarding the Tiranga Rumaal Chhu League.(TRL 2016)

Immense enthusiasm and eagerness is being witnessed among the players and audience alike with regards to the tournament sponsored by the MSG All Trading Company.

Games Schedule & Prizes

Preparations are on in full swing for this interesting competition that is to take place between 22nd August and 28th August.

The 8 teams that are participating in the tournament include many national and international players. The team that wins the tournament will receive a prize of Rs. 50 lakh, while the first runner up team will receive Rs. 30 lakh.

It is for the first time that prizes worth lacs are being showered at the very launch of a game. The man of the match will be presented with an electric bike while the player of the tournament will win a car.

Encouraging Sports at the Grassroots

Talking about the reasons to host the tournament, the Revered Saint said that he wished to provide encouragement to the players in India and ensure the advancement of talent.

He hoped that some of these players go ahead and bring glory to their families and the country in the form of Olympic or Asiad medals.

The anthem song of the tournament “Hat peeche, chal peeche” has also been released in MSG’s own voice.

While talking about the game the Revered Saint said that games like circle kabaddi, national kabaddi, wrestling, kho-kho and one or two other games have been combined and adapted.

It will consist of a one-on-one fight. 8 teams have already been selected for the upcoming tournament. 

The tournament has representation from the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, etc. as well as from Canada and Australia.

They are – MSG Toofani Sher, MSG Lath Gad De Haryana, MSG Chak de Phatte Punjab, MSG Rajasthani Surma, MSG Dilli ke Diler, MSG UP Jaanbaaz, MSG Canadian Cowboys, and MSG Australian Brave Boys.

Every player of the team will be given an amount of Rs. 50,000 and the amount will keep getting updated as the tournament progresses.

Venue and timing of Games

It is going to take place at an Indoor stadium at Shah Satnam Ji Dham, Sirsa (Haryana) which has been decorated for the event. The art direction of the stadium has been done by the Revered Saint himself.

The opening ceremony of the tournament starts off with a cultural programme. After that, two matches will take place everyday. The tournament that will go on over the period of a week will have matches between 8 pm and 10 pm every night.

The players will be monitored through cameras that have been placed over the ground. Every other area is also under camera surveillance.

It will be telecast on various television channels.

About Game Rules

Explaining the rules of the game, the Revered Saint told the people that a raider would pick up the handkerchief. On doing so, if the catcher touches him, the raider is awarded one point.

However, if the catcher manages to keep the hanky, the catcher is awarded 2 points. Also, if the raider manages to touch the handkerchief without being touched by the catcher, he wins 3 points. If the catcher carries the raider along with handkerchief, then the catcher wins 4 points.
