9000 teachers without mandatory degree may lose Jobs in Karnataka

Around 9,000 untrained teachers working in schools throughout the Karnataka state will lose their jobs if they fail to get Diploma in Elementary Education levels latest by April 2019. All educators are required to possess this level, at least, in education.

This figure includes educators from both privately and government owned schools. The information was brought forward through a video conference organized by the Union MHRD with all the elementary, secondary and higher secondary education ministers from all over the country on Wednesday.

After the video conference, State Education Minister Tanver Sait said, “We gathered details of untrained educators after a final notification issued by the Union MHRD in the recent times. As per the information available at least 9,000 educators are not trained from both privately owned as well as government owned schools.

They finally have a one-time opportunity to become qualified by April 2019″. Of all these, about 759 government school educators includes people who were hired as guest educators at the district levels. We’ve asked all the educators to pursue D.Ed class at National Institute for Open Schooling,” Sait said.

In any case, mentioned a Supreme Court judgment which had cancelled distance education degrees For B.Ed and D.Ed classes. For which, Union MHRD Minister Prakash Javadekar replied that it applies specially newcomers rather than to teachers that are currently in service.
