In a mighty leap for the government’s vision to work towards a Digital India, Haryana Police have now started providing online services for the people. Moreover, in yet another benefit, the cost of online services has been reduced to Rs 50 from the earlier Rs 500.
There are a total 31 services which can be availed online by people by paying this nominal fee. The aim behind this move is to ensure the convenience of people while helping the police in reducing the cost of staff and other expenses by moving the entire process online.
Services offered online by the Haryana Police include police clearance certificate, verification of employees, tenants, and domestic helps and also the issuance of character certificates. In addition to these services, residents of Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Panchkula districts can avail 17 services pertaining to licensing of arms on the Haryana Police website.
For those wishing to avail these services online, you can visit the following 2 websites:
This move will help the Haryana Police in reducing their manpower load for providing these services. As a result, the staff can be efficiently deployed for law and order and policing duties.
These services will continue to be available offline as well but the charges for that have been kept at Rs 500. The reason behind providing a discount for online services is to encourage people to use their computers and smartphones instead of having to personally visit a police station or office.
The Haryana Police has said that essential services such as registering a case or filing a missing person’s complaint will continue to be free. Similarly, services such as RTI applications etc. will continue to be charged at the rate specified by the government.
We hope that this move by the Haryana Police sets an example of other police forces around the country. By availing these facilities online, you not only save a lot of time and effort but also save money considering the discounted cost of Rs 50 for services.
