How famous can be a retiring peon? Well, not so much. But the case was entirely different for peon Sumitra Devi who hails from Ramgarh, Jharkhand. It was a visual treat to see hundreds of attendees see her leave the office gracefully.

Sumitra Devi made ensure that her sons get a proper education throughout their lives. Her elder son Virender Kumar is a railway engineer, second son Dhirender Kumar is a Doctor and third son Mahendra Kumar is a district collector of Siwan in Bihar.
However, the success of her children didn’t end her working days. Even after repeated requests from her sons to leave the job and let them take care of her, she continued to remain a peon and completed her journey with grace.
The ceremony was emotional yet inspiring
The farewell ceremony was attended by all three sons. While it was an emotional moment for Sumitra Devi, everyone present was proud that they got a chance to work with her. Chief guest Dhirendra Kumar offered her Shawl and flowers and wished her good luck for the coming days.
He also praised the courage and good work done by her. The honesty and dedication of this brave lady have paid off very well.
Her sons dedicated their lives to her struggle and said that it was their mother’s passion which drove them to become successful in life.
After watching her struggle every day just to make sure they have a good education and food to eat, it was their duty to move forward and make their mother proud. Her son Mahendra Kumar said that no work in life is difficult and all you need is hard work and dedication.
